Rafał Majka holds a PhD in culture studies from SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities (2017). He also graduated in English Philology from the University of Silesia (2006) and did postgraduates in Gender Studies (University of Warsaw, 2011) and Trendwatching & Future Studies (AGH University of Science and Technology, 2021). He did research visits in Marseille, France (2021, Aix-Marseille Université, France), in Berlin, Germany (2015, John F. Kennedy Institute, Freie Universität; 2023, Institute for European Ethnology, Humboldt Univerrsity), in Edmonton, Canada (2005, University of Alberta), and in Boston, Massachusetts, USA (2008, 2012, Massachusetts Institute of Technology). In 2019 he published a book on contemporary left philosophies of social change entitled Teraźniejsze przyszłości. Współczesne wyobraźnie lewicowe [Futures Present. Contemporary Left Imaginaries]. He has published numerous articles and co-edited a few books/joural issues. For over a decade he has been active in leftist, feminist, LGBT and queer social movements.
